Spotlight: Dr. Anna Lopez

Anna and sonAnna Lopez was one of 11 faculty presented the Donald C. Roush Award for teaching excellence. 

Eleven faculty members received the Donald C. Roush Award at this Spring’s Convocation. Named for a former NMSU executive vice president in recognition of his 34 years of supporting teaching improvement at NMSU, the annual Roush awards recognize NMSU faculty for teaching excellence (for more information see NMSU honors faculty, Hubbard during convocation)

Since January 2016, Dr. Anna Lopez has served as the Program Director for the CACREP-approved Master’s Program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling housed in the Department of Counseling & Educational Psychology.  She truly enjoys her teaching role and is clearly energized  by the instructional process.  She is widely regarded as a very effective instructor who places a high priority on the mentoring of student in pursuit of clinical counseling training.   She received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is currently a Licensed Mental Health Professional Counselor in the state of New Mexico.
