Research Interests:

Dr. Chung’s research interests primarily focus on career development among youth and college students from underrepresented backgrounds. Her work aims to identify factors that can encourage youth and college students to explore and pursue their career interests freely despite systemic barriers. She hopes to inform community leaders, practitioners, and administrators of ideas for further improved career services and interventions. She has also been interested in brief scale development and the counseling process & outcome research based on routine outcome monitoring data.

Leadership:

Dr. Halin Chung is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology at NMSU. She received her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Iowa. She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the University of Texas at Austin Counseling and Mental Health Center. Dr. Chung’s clinical interest focuses on supporting identity exploration and development among emerging adults.
