  Research Interests:

Dr. Ballard’s research interests focus broadly on supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral wellness of students within school and community contexts, centering students who are frequently overlooked and underserved. Specifically, her work focuses on (a) effective supports for students placed in alternative education settings, (b) interventions to create socially inclusive schools and extracurricular activities for students with diverse abilities, and (c) advocacy for equitable systemic change in education and school psychology.

Leadership:

Dr. Staci Ballard is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology at NMSU. She received her PhD in School Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. Dr. Ballard’s clinical background focuses on providing therapy and assessment services to K-12 students within therapeutic day schools.
