Lisa McVann is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (NM), Level 3 PreK–12 Professional School Counselor (NM), and National Certified Counselor (NBCC) with over fifteen years of experience in mental health and education. Her clinical work focuses on perinatal and postpartum mental health, chronic pain, phase-of-life transitions, identity development, and trauma-informed care. She is particularly committed to approaches rooted in decolonization, systemic awareness, and inclusion. In practice, she integrates somatic techniques, Relational-Cultural Therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Lisa McVann maintains an active private counseling practice serving the Las Cruces community.

Leadership:

Lisa McVann currently serves as a College Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator for the Counseling and Community Psychology Global Campus program in the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology at New Mexico State University. She is an Approved Clinical Supervisor through the New Mexico Counseling and Therapy Practice Board and provides mentorship and supervision to emerging counselors as they develop their clinical skills and professional identity. In addition to her academic and clinical roles, she facilitates professional development trainings focused on counselor wellness and the application of ethical principles in clinical practice.
