PURPOSE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP: The American Psychological Foundation Walter Katkovsky Scholarships support early career postdoctoral licensed psychologists in clinical or counseling to complete training in a psychopharmacology program designated by the APA. The scholarships are intended to encourage opportunities for psychologists to join healthcare teams and benefit patients who have psychological and medical problems.

The American Psychological Foundation (APF) Beth N. Rom‐Rymer Scholarship.
PURPOSE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP: The American Psychological Foundation Beth N. Rom-Rymer Scholarship supports graduate students and practicing, licensed psychologists to complete courses that are recommended under the APA Model Curriculum of Didactic Training in Clinical Psychopharmacology. The purpose of the scholarships is to encourage psychologists, with recognized leadership skills, and with demonstrated passion for growing the field, to become prescribing psychologists, engaged in providing the highest caliber, comprehensive, integrated care to the most at-risk members of the community.

The Dr. Timothy Fjordbak Endowed Scholarship
Honors: Timothy Fjordbak, PsyD, was awarded a Presidential Citation for dedicating his professional career to caring for underserved populations. Fjordbak was a dedicated psychologist and 25-year member of APA who spent his career providing evaluation, treatment and consultation for diverse patient populations across the country, including our nation’s veterans. Fjordbak tragically lost his life while serving as a psychologist at the El Paso VA Medical Center. At the time of his tragic murder, Fjordbak was a supervisory psychologist in their Special Examination Unit. In 2009, Fjordbak was awarded the “Hands and Heart” award from the Secretary of the VA. He also was a trailblazer, adding a master’s degree in psychopharmacology to his skill set. He volunteered at the Mescalero Indian Hospital in New Mexico, where he was described as a rare individual with superior abilities and a humble manner.
