The Department of Counseling & Educational Psychology promotes education and human development across the life span by providing graduate training in direct provision of counseling and psychological services, research, and teaching. It also provides undergraduate programs to prepare students to work in a counseling-related field.
The department offers the following degrees in-person:
- Bachelor of Science in Counseling & Community Psychology – Prepares students to work at the bachelor’s level with a focus on: case management, interpersonal skills, understanding human behavior, multicultural awareness, awareness of mental health issues and preparation for licensure as a substance abuse counselor. It would also prepare students for graduate school in order to become practitioners in the field of psychology, mental health counseling or a related field.
